Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Ramon Knitting is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of cleaning cloths, mops etc to both the professional and home care markets. Hallmark Consumer Services provides Address Management, Brochure and Catalogue fulfilment, Call Handling, Promotion fulfilment, Contract packing, Mailings, Mail order, Point of sale management and distribution services. After the Chief Executive of Ramon Knitting and a Director of Hallmark attended a series of breakfast Action Learning Sets for Chief Executives we identified with them that they both had senior management teams that needed development in leadership skills and also in the way they worked together as teams. The problem being that it wasn't cost-effective for them to have an in-house development programme. So Cygnet, Ramon and Hallmark teamed together to put on a year long development programme for both Senior Management Teams which was sufficiently tailored to give significant organisational benefit for both companies and yet was very reasonably priced because the two companies shared costs. The programme consisted of core leadership skills training in areas such as motivating others, delegation, handling poor performance, managing teams, conflict, recruiting, company finances, relationships and communication and marketing. As well as workshop sessions each manager had 1:1 coaching sessions in his or her own workplace.
